The Least of These Ministries     The Least of These Ministries is a non-denominational Christian organization that is dedicated to assisting the Haitian harvesters who live in work camps in the Dominican Republic.  These work camps are known as bateys and offer little more than basic protection from the elements.  The people in the bateys have very little work and virtually no means to raise money for food and other basic necessities. Batey children have little or no clothing, little or no food and the infant death rate runs about 30% Below is a picture of children in a Batey.  Please notice the smiles on their faces.  While these children have very little in the way of material belongings, they have a lot of love in their hearts that they like to share with others. Below is a house in one of the bateys.  While this home is made of wood with a tin roof, it is not uncommon to see mud huts with thatch roofs in some of the bateys.      The Least of These Ministries is dedicated to helping people in the bateys in the Barahona area of the Dominican Republic. By providing one meal per week of rice and beans, the Least of These ministries is providing food for 5000 people on a weekly basis.
